Dear Friends!
By popular demand—and in celebration of its tenth anniversary year—the "Stray Dog from San Pedro" Theater is delighted to bring back to the stage one of its most beloved and touching productions: *My Grandfather Was a Cherry Tree*!
This production is based on the novella of the same name by Italian author Angela Nanetti. It is a tender, poetic story about how a cherry tree becomes a guardian of life—a symbol demonstrating that love takes root and flourishes across time and circumstance, filling our lives with light and meaning.
The production premiered in December 2022 and immediately captured the hearts of audiences with its warmth, sincerity, humor, and nuanced performances.
In April and May 2026, the show returns!
In early April, the production will be presented at the Bellevue International Theatre Festival (BITFest) in Seattle, Washington.
In May, performances will take place in Los Angeles (May 9) and Orange County (May 10).
Tickets are available on the theater's website.
We invite everyone—both those who have seen the show before and those who will be experiencing it for the very first time—to join us.
Come share in this deeply moving story of tenderness and love.
We look forward to seeing you at the show!
Performed in Russian (without translation).
